Livid Looper

Designed to emphasize simplicity and hands-on control, short loops of audio can be sliced, diced, scrambled, and transformed with built-in and VST effects. Gesture and Segment sequencers record synchronized loops of knob and button presses locking effect changes to the loop, allowing quantized actions and automatic pitch shifting to ensure all your loops are in tempo.

Using an interface created with a lot of color and inspired by the environment, you'll find a wide range of tools that let you segment, cut, add multiple effects and even mix six audio files at once. You can also use a self-segmentation feature to divide your loop into user-specified equal parts.

Livid Looper is a powerful music composition tool that will automatically generate melodies based on repeating musical loops or segments. It includes eight work stations that allow you to modify your tracks' sound properties and special effects in realtime.

In addition, a small PDF manual provides an overview of all the features included in this application. The software is free of charge and open source.

Livid Looper is designed from the ground up to be networked and collaborated on, taking cues from new technologies (such as mini-laptops) and contemporary ideas about shared computing. Its native OpenSoundControl messaging allows you to work with multiple computers on separate interfaces controlling a single server computer, creating a true computer music band. Its MIDI remote scripts make it easy to map to other music apps and hardware, including the Livid Minim wireless controller.
